What a busy weekend!

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine weekend - mine was very busy and D & C were on the go! I spent Valentine's with Cousin Gyp - he is a big Collie that loves to play ball.  Gyp is a friend - not my Valentine -  Jackson is more my type...!

'Gyp' stands for trouble or problems - and that is exactly what he is !  Well to me anyway - D & C think he is lovely - but he blocked me in the garden and wanted to play and wouldn't let me back in the house.  So I had to tell him off - but every time I went out there I had to be pretty quick about coming back or we would have had words again!  All he did all day was run around, play with toys (MINE!) and chased the ball.  We even had to watch his TV programs - he liked Womens Tennis - which suited C - but D wasn't convinced the motives were strictly sports related.

Well, you think that D & C would let me catch up on my beauty sleep on Sunday - but No - C had a bike race.  He gets on this two wheelie thing and dresses up in tights and then cycles as fast as he can for 25 miles (he doesn't race other riders, but the clock - these humans - what an odd bunch) ... This is a photo of him waiting to start

While he raced the clock, D and I sat in the car reading magazines drinking coffee - it was cold though and I stayed under my blankie.

C did very well - he came in the top 20 and had a very competitive time -  we were very proud and we gave him a big Congratulations kiss.  We then went to visit the Fox Terrier Rescue.  Not to drop me off - although after I turned D's expensive jeans into a pair of shorts - she did threaten to send me back.  It wasn't the jeans she was so mad about - it was the fact that she was wearing them when I had my 'moment'.  But those were early days and I am much better now.

My fellow rescues are a much better behaved bunch than me - we saw Paddy again - a sweet boy that had cataracts surgery - which I know Jackson told you about and you were all so generous to help towards the cost of his surgery.  He is doing well - still waiting for his forever home.  A volunteer knitted him a cosy jumper (sweater) - all stripey - to help keep him warm.

D and C brought lots of treats and toys and an extra special one for Paddy.  Check out the Fox Terrier Rescue website for all the photos of my pals in the rescue - D wanted to take them all home.  We all hope that they find their forever home very soon.

Wow, what a weekend.  I was too tired yesterday to write anything - I just curled up on my blankie and snoozed the day away.  But I am bright eyed and bushy tailed today and can't wait to read all the Valentine blogs - lots of licks

  1. That's a great blanket Sally. Mom likes to wrap me up in blankets too. She says I look cute. Sigh. The things we do for THEM.

  2. Hi Sally,

Looks like you had a great weekend. Did Jackson come through with any Valentines??? If not, I'll give him a good talking to about how to court a lady. (I've done wonders with Eric Square Dog!)

Can't believe your Mom mistook your tailoring of her jeans...

    Your pal,

  3. Sally: You had a wonderful weekend, even if you did look a bit chilly. Thank you for the update on the dogs at rescue...muzzer would have a few more if Teka was not part of the Family!

    congrats to your dad

  4. Hey pal, congrats to C on his bike stuff. Can't see the point of it myself, but I've noticed that humans seem to like doing things like this.
Glad to hear that Gyp isn't your type, I was beginning to get a bit worried!
How lovely to see another photo of Paddy. He's looking rather splendid in his jumper. He's hoping he finds a great new home soon. J x

  6. Hi Sally. you HAVE been busy.Glad that you are keeping Gyp in line. Well done to C on his race against the clock. They ever tried to get you to run beside the bike Sal? Sheese- don't ever try it.

Oh me and Mom loved to see Paddy. Mom thinks he should live here and has been trying to persuade Dad..not hopeful so far.Doesn't Paddy look all spiffy in his wooly? And I bet you Mom looked special in her cropped jeans too!

    Wiry wags, Eric xx

  7. Sally Girl!

You look so cute underneath your blankie in the car. Glad you kept warm while you're dad was out working up a sweat! Give him a congratulatory goober smooch from me please for placing so well.

Gyp sounds like he just wants to play and doesn't know when to back off. I'm like that sometimes ~ totally friendly but not understanding that any other dog could possibly decide NOT to play with me.

SO GLAD Paddy is doing well and stylin' too! Give him a smooch from us.

    Goober love,

  8. Congratulations to your C!
We love that picture of you with your blankie on your head, Sally! hehehehe

    Love ya lots
    Maggie and Mitch

  9. My what a busy weekend you really did have Sally.
For one who can't even ride a bike am truly impressed with C's effort.
Seeing Paddy in his smart coat was great, do hope he finds his forever home soon.

    Love, pats & pets

  10. Hey Sally,
Sounds like you had a very fun weekend! Paddy is so cute!!! Mama doesn't dare enter a shelter or rescue site. Our whole house would be full. Us 2 doggies & 3 cats are enough she said, hehehe.
    Luv & Wirey Hugs,
Butchy, Snickers, Ruby, Sylvester & Scuby

  11. Hi, Sally. Jackson sent me over to check out your blog, and I'm so glad he did! You're a cutie!

(don't tell Jackson I said that, okay?)

    Happy Tails,
