My Gotcha day!

Hey everybloggie

We must apologise for not writing sooner - we have dropped by the blogs - but D has been too busy to type for us! She did say she would rather blog than do all the other things she has to do - so we forgive her.

Well, it was 3 years ago - on this date - that I came to live with D and C. Rowan, my brother Welsh Terrier came too - but he went to the Rainbow Bridge on the 16th of October, 2008. D still finds it hard to write about him or look at his photos - we miss him very much.

D does not have too many photos of me from the early days - I was very shy and scared and when the flashy beast came out - I would run and hide. I was a very scared little girl and would sleep all scrunched up in the corner of the kitchen. I use to hide in the back garden (or jungle)- D would like everyone to know the garden has been cleared up and she will post pictures in the summer to prove it!

But NOW - I am a sweet (D's words) and happy little girl - I pose for the cameras - and I now sleep cuddled up next to my D and C. I have been joined by Paddy (His gotcha day is Easter Sunday - that is why D nicknamed him Bunny) Here are some photos of the happy secure me

Well, got to run - we are having a carpet fitted today - and D still hasn't cleaned the room.

Lots of licks
Sally

  10. Oh my! How ashamed and embarrassed I am! Your Jakey! I am just NOW realizing that today is your Gotcha Day, Sweet Sally. (It's okay if others call you Sweet Sally, 'cause you ARE sweet! Very very sweet! And I'm not a jealous kind of dog.)

You have given our whole family good reason to celebrate today. Because, because of YOU and your family, we've made very special friends that make us happy and have one more reason to celebrate Rescue and Adoption. We are soooooooo happy that you found your family, and they found you. You are a perfect example of the healing that can emerge and the love that develops when doggies are with families (and friends) that love them.

I, well, okay, WE are thrilled by your foxy beauty and feistiness. (Fergi says ALL wires with spots are special!) It's no wonder that I love you.

We all hope you have a wonderful Gotcha Day, Sally! It's a great day to celebrate. Hmmm. Thinkin' about that ... mine's comin' up! We'll have to think about celebrating together next year. Say ... how about in Italy? Think Milo and Paco and Maya might want to party with us?

    Love
    Jake (and my whole family!)

  21. Hi Sally and Paddy,
We were so happy to see that you all had visited!!!
I take Bufferin for my hands and can't open a lot of things anymore. It is hard to cut fabric, but I think I will just make string quilts from now on. You don't have to be real accurate when cutting. My Grandmother had real bad hands the last 20 years of her life. You learn to live with it.
Big kiss for you both, Bambi & Fern

  26. I make quilts by machine. I hardly ever sew by hand. I have a hard time writing let alone sewing. I use to have beautiful hand writing. I use to knit and hand embroidery. But I never quilted by hand. I do love the sewing machine and all it can do!!!!
Come again soon, Bambi & Fern

  29. Hi Sally,
Spaghetti squash is simple. Set your oven to 400 degrees. Cut your spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Put it face down on a cookie sheet (mom uses aluminum foil because she's a lazy person about cleaning cookie sheets) Bake for 40 minutes. Then you flip the squash. If the hoomans are eating it, put a pat of butter in there or some brown sugar or maple syrup, and if dogs are eating it, I get nothing added. It just bakes for another 40 minutes. Mom and dad eat it right out of the shell for dindin (oh yes, some people put tomato sauce on it but we never have) and as for me. Mom scraps all of the good stuff out of the shell and that's one of my vege selections for my diet!
    Love,
    Maggie
