Our friend Douglas

Hello all

We have been a bit busy lately - you see we have a visitor staying with us. And D says 3 Wires in a house is a lot of work! But we keep her busy and she doesn't become a couch potato! So it is like we are providing a service - no?

D and C help out the Fox Terrier Rescue whenever they can - and they were asked to pick up and foster our pal, Douglas. This is difficult for D and C as the last dog they fostered was Paddy and we all know how that went! You have already seen pictures of him on the Fun Walk - he came with us and kept up all the way!

I had a little problem with him at the beginning - I mean how many little brothers does one gal need? I was a little bossy - but not mean - just bossy - my house, my food, my couch, you get the picture...But I settled down and now we all get along - here is a photo of the three of us on the couch - we all love cuddling our people on the couch - but when they get up they put pillow bookmarks - otherwise we steal the whole couch and they have to sit in the other chair which isn't as comfortable...

Douglas is a little shy - we keep trying to take photos and a video but he stops moving - here is a photo we did manage to get...

Douglas is a sweet boy - he gets a little excited at times - but settles down pretty quickly - he enjoys going out and seeing new places - he was particularly fond of the pet store! But he is a true terrier - he tried to hunt the little bunnies in their enclosure. Funny for us - not so funny for the bunnies. So we bought him a stuffie - which he hasn't destuffied yet....

We have put him on the Fox Terrier Rescue website - so hopefully he will find his furever home. There is a really lovely family interested in him and we hope it all goes well ... we will keep you posted....

Smell ya later...

  2. In the perfect world all furries would have a forever home. What a wonderful world that would be to live in.

  8. Pillow bookmarks! What a great idea! Even though I don't get on the couch (not that it's not allowed ... I'm just not interested yet)

I've said it before ... Douglas reminds me a lot of Jakey. We are all hoping he finds his furever home soon AND that maybe, just maybe, his new family will blog so we can keep up with him. That'd be the best deal yet! Our paws are crossed.

    Love

  9. Pillow place marks? How mean is that??? You poor squaries. Though it does make for a cute picture but even so. Douglas is super special but I can't really really really can't believe a fine wiry like Douglas would get excited. A wirey boy get excited? Na. Never. The leggeds must be confused. But paws crossed Douglas finds a forever home soonest. He deserves to. Thank you for taking him in Sally and Paddy and your leggeds and for giving him some special wiry loving meantime.

Wiry loves and kisses Eric xxxx

I think you need to get a bigger couch and more pillows so you can squeeze in one more doggie! Do your humans sit on the floor?

  18. Yes, three terriers are a handful but that's the way we like it! Between Cap, Glynn and I there is never a dull moment at our house. The pillow bookmarks are a good idea too. Mom is taking notes...

I have 5 wall hangings, hanging on my walls in the house! I do not make big quilts, only baby quilts and wall hanging size quilts. My back and shoulders will not let me make big quilts. Love, Fern

I have been a pest coming and leaving comments.
When I blog and it gos out to the world, then I can let it go. If I tell somebody it still stays with me. Knowing it is out there in the whole world, Then it's gone!!! Funny.

  28. Sally, It's me again, For years I struggled with learning to sew. I tell my age but when I went to high school there was no sewing classes. In just one year after I was in the 10th grade they started a sewing class in the 9th grade. I bought a dress pattern once and I tried & tried but did not get good results. I did better on my own. Now I watch Sewing with Nancy on PBC and sometimes Love of quilting.
    Have a good day, Fern
