Foxy Terrier Fun - No 6

Well, we hope everyone has been behaving themselves - we have been away and will slowly catch up with everyone - and we wanted to tell everyone about our great walk in Brighton.

Yep, it was walk no 6 and we went to Brighton Marina and did the UnderCliff walk. We love this because the walk is under the cliffs (not very original title we know) and we get to stop at a cafe and play at the beach. As the area is contained and the beach is dog friendly - we get to be FREE!!!! Some doggies took more advantage of this freedom than others. It was a great day - we had 15 Wires, 1 Smooth, 3 Welshies, 1 Irish and 1 Lakie (she was the feistiest of them all) - and of course we had a lot of noise. Paddy started it all off - and he wasn't planning on stopping any time soon. But when he gets excited he can't help but share it with the world.

We had a wonderful day and want to thank Jackie and Noodles for helping to organise it - we couldn't bring everyone together without them! Snaffles made the little treat bags - but we ate the treats before pictures could be taken - sorry ...but they were very scrummy....

We were all very tired and Paddy went to sleep on the back seat of the car and didn't wake up even when D moved him into the house - he went from car to bed - sleeping! Here he is in the car...he didn't wake up again until 8 am the next day!

Fox Terrier Fun Day!

We had a great time at the annual Fox Terrier Fun Day! It is the big fundraiser for for the Fox Terrier Rescue - as always - it was a FUN day and the organisers put so much work into making it a wonderful success. D thinks this photo sums up the way both of us enjoyed the day:

Sally spent the time in between events in the car - she went into her 'dressing room' at every opportunity and only left when the humans wanted her to participate in the ring! The only time she came out willingly was when the Slowest Sausage Eating competition was on. I on the other hand, enjoyed myself tremendously! It was non stop - I was really happy - I would not stop barking. There were so many Smooth and Wire pals - I just had to let them know I was happy to be there and wanted to play!

There were a lot of fun groups - we entered a few and I won 4th Best Rescue! I will not pose for my publicity shot....sorry

Sally got 2nd Prettiest Girl and we won Happy Families. Which we were really honoured and thankful to be part of the day. There were so many great dogs and people there - it was so hard for the judges! In my opinion all the dogs there were red rosette winners - we were all well behaved and strutted our stuff.

D put together a slide show of some of the photos on the day - she took a lot! So you can see the slideshow or go to Flickr and see all of that Fox Terrier madness.

Sally was disqualified from the Slowest Sausage eating competition though - the shame the shame! But as they were putting down the sausages - Sally ate her neighbours' sausage and then ate her own - and this was before they even started the stopwatch!

We were lucky with the weather too! Although it did rain - the rain came and went - and we could hold an event in between - and the real heavy rain started when the day was over. So the Fox Terrier charm also worked on the clouds..

We also met some new girls in Rescue - they will be on the Rescue web site soon - but they had a nice day out and lots of people wanted to take them home on the day - we are sure there will be a line of people wanting to be a forever home for these sweeties...

The kind person holding them is Jane - we only meet her and her family on Fun Day - their boy George has been diagnosed with Pancreatitis just like me! - poor guy - we know with the love of his family he will get better soon and be fighting fit for the next fun day!

It was such a lovely day and we always enjoy ourselves so much - we can't thank enough the people that make it happen - and all the wonderful families that come and make it such a special day.

Sally, the Fox and some prizes!

We have been a household of injury lately - Paddy cut his leg, C burnt himself on the stove and D bashed her knee into the coffee table! Yikes, we are accident prone. But I am the worst of all!

You see, we have had an intruder in our garden - she comes every morning and evening - sometimes she brings her pal - sometimes on her own. Well, I am a Wire FOX terrier - and true to my breeding - I took an instant dislike to her and must keep my garden Fox Free! Here is a photo of our pest!

Here she is with her demonic eyes!!! You see, she must be kept out at all costs....

Well, I ran out one evening and hit my back leg really hard - I didn't notice it at the time - but when I got back in - boy did it hurt! And I have been limping ever since. I am now a 3 legged doggie - my paw is swollen and I do not put any weight on it. D took me to the V-E-T and my paw was x-rayed and I have a bone chip! Yes, I chipped a bone in my paw - and they have me on drugs that make me drowsy!! If it doesn't get better I am back at the VETS!!! So lets hope it heels on its own.

I still keep a lookout for the fox - but the damn thing has the advantage on me. Is there any one out there that can come and help keep my garden free of the dreaded fox?

Will keep guard until I get help... I do feel a little sorry for myself though - but D has been giving me extra cuddles and she carries me everywhere now - so that is one way to train the humans...

Now a follow up from our previous blog - we have some names!! Paddy pulled them out of a hat and the three Royal Winners are: the OP Pack, Rocky Creek Scotties and Reilly - please email me at dianaatshonalonadotcodotuk - and my human servant will send some Royal 'share the Love' goodies - if you have a preference let me know.

Royal Wedding and Royal 'Share the Love' Competition/Prizes

Hello all,

We are a bit delayed in writing this post and we can only blame D. She is a bit slow - but she does try her best and she has a lot of work to do - so we do not give her too much of a hard time!

Well as you know it was Easter and that is Paddy's Gotcha Day (of sorts) - he is doing well, he has had no further trouble with his eye - thank DOG. He had one minor pancreatic attack - but D & C got him to the Emergency Vets on time for lots of pain killers and anti-emetics! So he was right as rain very quickly! So far no more problems, paws crossed he stays that way for a long time! Here is a photo of him in his Easter outfit - the scarf was a gift from the Rocky Creek Scotties - we think it suits him - don't you? We would take picture of his Birthday supper - but because he has such a restricted diet - we didn't think you would want to see a plate of steamed white fish! Not sure he was that thrilled either....

Also the following weekend was the Royal Wedding - it was on the 29th of April, 2011 - just in case you were cloistered in a convent and did not see the news! Well, D is not a royalist, BUT she does love a celebration. Well, we enjoyed all the excitement and build up to the Wedding and we watched it with Billions of other people. (I got to attend with my sweetheart Jake - I was so thrilled to be part of this wonderful event - D and Paddy sat on the couch in front of the TV ooohhhing!! and aaahhhing!) Here I am with darling Prince Jake...

You can see all of the fun on Asta's Blog, or Scruffy, Lacie and Stan's blog - and I do not think Royal Events are the same without us doggies!

It was a great event and after all the bad news you hear every day - we really enjoyed all the good vibes! We thought they really cared for each other and were in love and we wish them all the best. Well, D isn't one to let an occasion pass and went on a spending spree of buying all things 'Royal' and British - its a sickness she just can't stop. She went to her favourite sushi restaurant - and ordered the Royal Nori wrapped hand cone - sorry no photo - she devours sushi quickly I am afraid! But she got to keep the dish...

She even bought Washing Up liquid (Dish soap) because it had a Royal Wedding theme to it!!!

BUT we have all decided that she should share all this Royal bounty with our friends on the blogs.

You see, we have missed you all terribly, and enjoy reading about your exploits and adventures. We are a little sad that people don't blog as much (this includes us!) - we understand - but we miss our friends nonetheless. We have so much to be thankful for - and we are tail wagging happy to be part of this community. So we have decided to share the love! Yes, D has put together 3 Royal Prizes to give away. They are all royal themed and a souvenir of the wedding too! And maybe a few extra surprises thrown in before we post them! Here they are:

Fox Terrier Fun Walk 5 !!!!

We met up with our Foxy friends in Brighton on the 16th of April, it was walk no 5 and the sun was shining and the tails were wagging!

We had lots of furry friends too - and overall we were very well behaved - we had to find a new meeting place because they told us to move last time. Apparently we make too much noise???? How can 30 terriers barking be a bad thing?

Anyhoo we were loud this time too - but we had more space - and no one has complained yet....here are some fun photos ....

Hello everybloggie

Sally here! We have been gone far too long - we miss all our friends - and we hope you haven't forgotten us!

We have been busy - and we have wanted to tell you about it - but our human is a little over 'worked' at the moment. But she has promised to put our friends first and get back to the fun stuff!

Just a really quick recap of all the things we wanted to share...

We went and represented Fox Terrier Rescue UK at Discover Dogs (a show put on by the Kennel Club to highlight all breeds and dog related stuff!) -

This is the first year they had Breed Rescues represented so we were on our best behaviour - Paddy was active throughout all of it - I eventually flaked out and slept - but we were good! We were surrounded by people and dogs for a whole day!!! It was great fun if a bit tiring...here I am being sweet...

Paddy tried to get everyone to play with him and his toys!!!!

We were very tired at the end of the day - I had just enough strength to instruct my chauffeur to "Take me home, James..."

We also went on the WELTAF Christmas Walk in Regents Park - lots of sweet welshies - and us!

Afterwards we walked from Regents Park to Charing Cross - and on Trafalgar Square there was some protest or other - and everyone was dressed up like Santa! Not sure if you can see them - they are a sea of red at the base of Nelson's Column ! We were very curious - we were trying to tell Santa we were good and deserved lots of pressies - but we did not know which was the real Santa!

We had a lovely Christmas and New Year and we hope all of you did too! Paddy has been doing well - his eyes are better and his pancreatitis is under control. I have had lots of problems with my paws and am wearing socks! The V-E-T wants to do some tests to see if it is allergies - or what???? I hope it isn't painful!!!

We do want to ask you to think of us - D has decided she is going to groom us - you see, our regular groomer has been on holiday and is very busy - so D said we are too shaggy and need a haircut and can't wait! - which we are not sure about - I mean lots of fur is cute, right?

But send D some good grooming vibes (and any tips!) and pray we come out looking like Fox Terriers and not Poodles (we like poodles and their haircuts - we just do not think it suits our bone structure ;-))

Paddy Power!

Hello all,

Just a quick update - as you know Paddy has had a lot of problems lately with his eye - he had an ulcer that would not heal. So he had to go back to have his eye operated on at the Animal Health Trust - we did not want him to be in pain all the time and this was the only option. Here is a picture of him with his eye doctor Marian

She was a very nice doctor and she was very patient with D and C. D kept asking a lot of questions, sending emails and calling - but the doctors understood that she was worried for Paddy and wanted to make sure everything was ok. But why worry? Paddy is a tough little boy and with all the support of family and friends, he has made a full recovery! No more pain!

We are participating in Jake and Fergi's 2nd Annual Worldwide moment - because Life is made of a lot of tiny miracles and we believe that if we all get together - we can make a difference. The power of the paw has helped Paddy in the past and we know it can help other furries and their humans

We will be participating - hope you will too.

Fox Terrier Fun Walk 23 Oct 2010

Yep - it was time for our 4th Fox Terrier Fun Walk - once again it was in Brighton on the promenade of the Undercliff walk. We were really worried because there was a lot of rain predicted - but as we approached Brighton it was sunny! Very Sunny! So we were thrilled! The power of the terrier paw!

We met at Brighton Marina - it took us a while to take photos and get everyone organised - and we were a very loud bunch. As per normal we were asked to move along as we were creating a lot of noise and becoming a distraction - which we feel is appropriate for all those terriers! The video is a little calm - we were much louder! This made D and C smile a lot - there is nothing better than energetic terriers!

Fox Terrier Fun Walk 4

There were 16 Wire Fox Terriers, 6 Welsh Terriers and 2 Irish terriers and associated humans!

A great turnout for an uncertain day (at least weather wise) - we had to hang around until D and C could get photos sorted, ho hum..

We walked to the first stop - which is the cafe - but it was a challenge - as the waves kept breaking against the wall and drenching the people on the walkway! D, Me and Paddy got hit by a huge wave and were drenched! Here is an example of what we are talking about

By the time we got to the cafe - we were wet and hungry - we stopped and had coffees and sandwiches - very civilised. There are some great photos on Facebook (click here) or Flickr (click here) - they were taken by Colin's human - Michael Lyons - he is a professional photographer and it shows - there are some great shots! J1 also took some great shots and you can go the Flickr page for Forever Foxed.

Some brave souls ventured on to Rottingdean - then over the cliffs back to the marina - there was a black cloud on the horizon - and it got us! We were hit with cold, sleety type rain - but thankfully it lasted for less than 10 minutes and then went. The sun came back out and dried us for the last bit of the walk.

Paddy got to walk with his new pal Colin, and Noodles - they helped keep him on the straight and narrow - he used them to bounce off of when he walked - so he never slipped into the road - so you see terriers are good assistance dogs! This is a photo taken by Michael Lyons of the 4 terriers - Paddy safely in the middle of Noodles and Colin - this is one of our favourites!

We got to meet so many of our pals and make some new ones - it was a great day. J1 and Noodles arranged the lovely goodie bags - sadly we ate ours and there was nothing left to photograph but a plastic bag.

In case you are wondering - my paws are ginger again because my allergies have hit - D wanted to get me all pretty for the walk - but I hate baths - so she thought as it would rain she would wash me when we got home. So if I seem a little 'grey' blame D! Our next blog will have a clean me - promise!

Away too long ...

Hello Everybloggie, We have to apologise for being away so long. Our D has had a very eventful summer and hasn't kept up with her duties! But she has tried her best - and she has still given us lots of attention and cuddles - so we forgive her!

We just wanted to point out some of the highlights - thought you might like to see!

Well, we had the Fox Terrier Rescue Fun Day in July - it was a very sunny day and there were lots of dogs there. We are sure everyone had a good time and lots of needed funds were raised for the Fox Terrier Rescue (You get more photos on the Fox Terrier Rescue Website). Here I am enjoying the festivities and watching all the great dogs strutting their stuff!

Paddy got a lot of attention - and was being cuddled - he liked this a lot!

We got to go several places and see lots of things - but we had a great surprise - because we got to meet Noodles! Yep, he is super cute and Paddy and him hit it off -

It was a great day and we really enjoyed out time together. Hopefully we will meet up again soon.

Now a note from D - she went to Down House - the home of Charles Darwin. And the reason she is letting you know - is that Darwin had a Fox Terrier named Polly. She had her basket in his study and she always accompanied him on his 'Thinking Walks' - it was on these walks that he developed his book - On The Origin of Species. Here is a photo of his study - all that was missing was a Fox Terrier in that basket - maybe I can play that role?

We promise to drop by and catch up with all our Blogging friends - we are sorry it has taken us so long to write - but sometimes life gets hectic. One last thing, we are off to the eye specialist for Paddy - he has an ulcer and we are hoping it can be treated with drops and heals quickly - please send cornea healing vibes! Thanks!

iPad vs. MyPad

Hello all,

Sorry we have been away from the blogosphere for so long. D has been hectic with other things - she should get her priorities in place! We come first, everything else a distant second!

Paddy is doing really well and is almost back to 'normal' - his normal. Lots of jumping, chewing, digging and then sleeping on the bed under the ceiling fan.

Well, as you know, our Paddy had a stay at the Emergency Vets - he also stayed at the Royal Veterinary College - they are both very good facilities and they helped Paddy get better. They also charge accordingly - so D and C had to dip into their 'savings pot'. The weekend Paddy got sick - was the weekend the iPads hit the stores. Well D is a big fan of Apple computers - and couldn't wait for the new iPads (she was going to queue and wait for hours to buy one - that is how determined she was!)

Anyhoo - the idea was to buy an iPad. BUT Paddy went into hospital - so we used the money for a MyPad instead!

Example: D reprimanded him for trying to get into the compost bin - he returns to it again and again - and has actually dug underneath to get to the nummy composting greens - MMMM....

*Custom K9 processor - motivated when he wants - will not function if near a bath, VET office or Groomers - but will speed up for the Park, car rides and trips to Pet Store.

*Low Performance Battery - will use energy for things Paddy wants to do (see above) - stops providing energy for things Paddy does not want to do (see above)

Well, do you think we got the better item? So we have no iPad but we have our MyPad - oh yeah. Cost of iPad (in the UK) £499, cost of the MyPad (as they say on TV) PRICELESS.

Paddy is Home!

Dear All,

We are so sorry it has taken us so long to update the blog - but we have been nursing Paddy back to health and his Zia (Aunty) came to visit him from Italy.

He has been getting lots of cuddles, hugs and scratches - we have all been nursing him back to health. I am not allowed to help him eat his dinner - as I seem to eat all the chicken for myself. So D and C make sure he eats his food and thankfully his appetite is back.

He is making a slow recovery - but we are sure he will be as right as rain in no time! He is sleeping a lot - and here he is in his bed with his Pig Stuffie.

We wanted to thank everyone for all their good positive vibes and healing zen - we couldn't have done it without you. We will be checking in on everyone soon - we are so thankful we have our Paddy back and we have such wonderful friends!

Paddy Update

Thank you so much for all your positive vibes - they mean so much to us and we are sure Paddy is feeling them.

What can we say about the little man? Monday morning we transferred him to the Royal Veterinary College. He was in a lot of pain with a very swollen abdomen. He had a very good Internist and Ultrasound technician working on his behalf, they discovered a blockage in his bladder, which would require surgical removal.

But he must have gotten all your vibes and heard the word 'surgery' and on his way to the operating room - he peed the longest pee and flooded the hallway along with the nurse's shoes! (Hopefully they won't put new shoes on the bill)

Wonderfully he had cleared himself of the blockage. So they decided not to operate and see if they can control everything in a non invasive way! He still wasn't eating at that point - and they said if it continued he would be put on a feeding tube - but he must have heard them that time too and ate some chicken! Just boiled chicken - he has no interest in the canned food - but who can blame him?

But he is feeling better all round - he is eating on his own and plays with his toy in his cage. So we are awaiting a few more tests - but if all is well we pick him up tomorrow.

They did find a 'growth' on his bladder - it isn't causing the blockage - but they are not sure what IT is - perhaps a polyp - perhaps worse - so please send all your positive vibes that it is benign - we will go back in a couple of months to do another ultrasound and see if it has grown.

We are so indebted to all of you for your support and good wishes - they mean so much to us and I know Paddy feels them and they helped him get better.

More healing vibes needed for Paddy

Dear All

Paddy has had another pancreatitis attack - he was doing really well and then it just started. At 3 am we woke to him being sick - we rushed him to the Emergency Vets - and he has been there for 2 days. He is on fluids and painkillers - but although he is not critical like before - he is still in a lot of pain and he refuses to eat or drink. He should be showing signs of improvement and he hasn't.

We are worried for him - and we are hoping you could send some positive energy our way - and help Paddy bounce back. He has all the terrier tenacity - but might need some help to kick start it!

Thank you for all your positive vibes and for listening - we cannot bear the thought of him suffering and want to do everything to help him - we are hoping he can come home soon

Fox Terrier Fun Walk 3

Hello everybloggy!

Yep, we went to the 3rd Fox Terrier Fun Walk - 24 April, 2010. We met at Brighton Marina - and walked the Undercliff walk. Not sure how it happened by D and J1 organised the sunshine too! It was a beautiful day and we were all up for a walk!

Here is a video of the line-up (we were missing a few Irish terriers and fox terriers in this clip) - there were a lot of dogs - we tried to take count and came up with these numbers: 17 Wire Fox Terriers, 1 Smooth Fox Terrier, 5 Welsh terriers, 3 Irish Terriers, and one Airedale

You will notice in the video that one Wire is more vocal than the others - yep, that was DOUGLAS! His family joined us - he is looking wonderful - and he is in fine voice too!

Here are some more photos of the line up - but we needed the panoramic function on the camera - as it was a long line up!

There were so many wonderful doggies and people. Our official photographer was Blue! She walked me for a bit - I was a better girl this time and didn't pull too much.

We also got to see Jackson again! (here he is trying to sneak some ice cream from Blue)

We know he hasn't been well lately and we keep sending him lots of terrier vibes - he enjoyed himself on the day and was a very gracious host!

There were a lot of doggies - we stopped at the Cafe and we all went to the beach to play. There were 10 terriers off lead playing in the water and wandering around - and no problems! Not even one argument - everyone was on their best behaviour!

A little girl named Poppy - she was rehomed in November 2009 - it was lovely seeing her and her lovely family!

We then carried on to Rottingdean and up and over the cliffs back to the Marina. Paddy and I were flagging - Paddy has had back problems and we weren't sure he was going to be up for the walk. But with true Terrier tenacity we kept going....

But Paddy was very poopy by the end of it - here he is taking a break - look how long his tongue is!!!

Well we made it back to the Marina and had a well earned lunch! Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to Jackson's family who helped arrange a lovely day, to Blue for being our photographer and of course all the doggies and people that attended and made it a perfect day!

Guess what? D left us - yes, she went to Italy for a holiday. Can you guess the city?

Yep, she went to Milano! We were jealous - I love Italian food and shopping too! Plus I want to see my Zia (Auntie) again - I love her very much - I wake her every morning with kisses when she comes to see us in London.

Well, as D was in Italy for a few days - she went to visit Paco, Milo and Maya ! That made us really jealous! Now, there should be a lot more photos - but D forgets to use the camera and didn't take many photos of the trip there and back. But she says it is beautiful countryside - and the day was sunny.

She was thrilled to meet them - they are so adorable!!!! Here are some photos...(You will notice there is one extra baby - they were babysitting a Maya lookalike!)

D brought some stuffies for them...they didn't last long...but they all played really well - can you imagine 4 terriers playing so well ?...

Here is Paco taking a sweet nap inside - he still has his hurt face and we are hoping he gets better really soon - we are sending lots of Wirey healing zen and hope he makes a full recovery soon.

D had a wonderful time and she thinks Paco, Milo, Maya and their Mom and Dad are just wonderful!!!!!!!!!! She is making plans already to go back !!!!!!!!! D was really sad she had to say Good Bye and said that even if the planes aren't flying - she will drive back (hoping the moving kennel a.k.a 'the car' can make it)

We are really happy D wasn't stranded in Europe - but D says that although she would miss us - she wouldn't mind being 'stranded' in Italy. In fact, she wants us all to be 'stranded' in Italy.

Well, Paddy is getting his wish to spend more time with friends - the 3rd Fox Terrier Fun Walk will be held this Saturday in Brighton!!!!!!! We will get to see Jackson!!!!!!!!!! He hasn't been well lately and we want to give him big licks and make him feel better.

Happy Easter and Paddy's Gotcha Day

Hello all

It has been a year that Paddy has been with us! And we are thankful every day that our paths crossed - he is the greatest little brother you could ask for - and D and C love the stuffing out of him!

The truth of how Paddy came to the Fox Terrier Rescue is not nice - it is a tale of how people can be heartless. And Paddy's story is not about sadness any more - but happiness. So we like to think that when Battersea Dogs Home found Paddy...it went something like this...

Paddy was found in the Lost Property Office at Victoria Station - he had come from deepest darkest Peckham (possibly) - he survived on rawhide bones and water - a note on his coat read: Paddy Bear - please look after this Bear - Love Aunt Lucy....

Battersea Dogs Home wanted to find him a home and asked the Fox Terrier (and Bear) Rescue to help - and they did. First, they got some help from some lovely people and fixed one of his eyes - he enjoyed life much more after that - then D and C and I met him - and we fell in love. Indeed, we wanted very much to look after this bear!

And we think he liked it too - does he look happy to you too?

and we think he is praying for more walks in the windy Lake District...

More times to mess around in the mud (but less baths)

More chances to be with his sissy Sally

A Parcel and Paddy spring update

Hello all!

We are so sorry it has been so long - we have dropped by the blogs when we can - but D has been very busy with house stuff and I can't type as my paw allergies are back. I am currently wearing socks! How embarrassing.

We think it might have to do with a grass allergy .... so now I stick to the paths and only have 'urban' walks - no off road for me! Which I prefer - D brings me to fancier places that is more befitting of someone classy like me!

First I wanted to tell everyone about my lovely Valentine package from my sweetheart Jake and his family! They were so thoughtful - I never received a package before - so I was a little misty eyed....

A beautiful hand made scarf - with a mini me on it!!!!! D says that it is just perfect for her - we shall see about that!

There were lovely hand made notebook, Hankies and a beautiful glass bead paperweight - These are now on D's desk and she uses the pad for her auctions and antiques - she calls it her good luck pad....(as she always brings me with her - I do not mind sharing...)

Now an update from Paddy....

Finally, I get a word in....just wanted everyone to know that spring has sprung and that it will be my Gotcha Day soon (Easter Sunday) - so the next blog will be about me and my story...but I thought I would show everyone that spring has finally arrived in our little corner of the world - the crocuses are a little down trodden (it has been raining a lot) plus I like to sit on them but the Dippy Daffs are on their way to full happiness!

My Gotcha day!

Hey everybloggie

We must apologise for not writing sooner - we have dropped by the blogs - but D has been too busy to type for us! She did say she would rather blog than do all the other things she has to do - so we forgive her.

Well, it was 3 years ago - on this date - that I came to live with D and C. Rowan, my brother Welsh Terrier came too - but he went to the Rainbow Bridge on the 16th of October, 2008. D still finds it hard to write about him or look at his photos - we miss him very much.

D does not have too many photos of me from the early days - I was very shy and scared and when the flashy beast came out - I would run and hide. I was a very scared little girl and would sleep all scrunched up in the corner of the kitchen. I use to hide in the back garden (or jungle)- D would like everyone to know the garden has been cleared up and she will post pictures in the summer to prove it!

But NOW - I am a sweet (D's words) and happy little girl - I pose for the cameras - and I now sleep cuddled up next to my D and C. I have been joined by Paddy (His gotcha day is Easter Sunday - that is why D nicknamed him Bunny) Here are some photos of the happy secure me

A magical Christmas Eve

Dear all

My human assistant has been very busy and hasn't put enough time aside for me! I have been wanting to tell you about the best Christmas eve - ever! As you know, I accepted Jake's invitation to go on a 'stroll' on Christmas eve. I was really nervous - I have never been out with anyone and I wasn't sure what to say, or do, or wear! But D said that I had to be myself - and just enjoy the day.

Even though he had to travel a long distance - he was on time. It was Christmas Eve and the door bell rang and there he was!!!

The Rose was for me! Before letting us go - my family wanted to meet him and get to know him. So we went for a walk in the woods near out house, I was nervous - but he is so sweet and kind - that I relaxed - we had a snowball fight - and he let me win!

My family thought he was a true gentledog - they gave me some pocket money (poor Jake lost his in a terrible Poker game with some dubious dogs). So we went up west - he arranged a carriage to bring us - he wanted us to really enjoy the sights.

Jake had his camera too - so he will put more photos on his blog when he gets a chance - but we saw lots of London - we walked along the River and went into Hyde Park and came across the German Christmas Markets

Well, we could both smell the beer and sausages - and even though I am sure Miss Enid would not recommend a sausage feast on a first date - well, we couldn't resist! After all that german beer and sausage - we needed to walk some more - so we walked along the River and on the Southbank - and all too soon Jake had to go home - I wanted the night to go on forever...

He is the kindest, most gentle dog I have ever known - he made me feel really relaxed and I could be myself...before he left I stole a quick good bye kiss...I think he didn't mind....

He had a safe trip back to Aunt Peggy's - he is waiting for his family to come back and then he will post more on his blog too!

We would like to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas (we didn't get a chance to drop by all the blogs before the 25th!)

A Welsh Christmas

Wow - what a wonderful weekend we had - we joined WELTAF and their Christmas walk! We met some lovely people and dogs - and we got to see Taffy again - we are getting lots of Christmas fun earlier than usual! We were thrilled they let us join them - D and C have a very special soft spot for Welsh Terriers. My Welsh brother Rowan went to the rainbow bridge last year and it stills is hard for D to write or talk about it. Maybe she will write about him in another post.

We drove to Battersea Park - and we did some moving photos of the scenery - Paddy loves to hang out the window - D puts Doggles on him to protect his eyes - but he eventually gets them off - and stays completely Al Fresco for the whole trip...

D needed to get a coffee (sadly she cannot do most things without the aid of caffeine!) - and on the way there was a charity plant sale and she bought a Blackcurrant sage - tastes like sage but smells like Blackcurrant. So she has planted it in the garden and hopes it will thrive - every time she looks at it she will remember the lovely day we had walking with the Welshies!

An Invitation!

I was still sleeping in my basket this morning when D shouted that I have a peemail! What a peemail for me?

I couldn't believe it - who is it from? Jake? Really????

I can't believe it! No one has ever asked me on a stroll before...or a walk...or an amble...or a hop or skip or anything....

I was feeling a little shy - went outside to get some air - I was blushing at the thought!

I am not sure what is the right way to respond .... I want to go on a stroll ... I think Jake is lovely ...hmmmmmm...

Then I saw that Miss Enid and Miss Lacie have a Rules of EAT A CAT (You can go to Lacie's Blog and see the class and read all about it!) Maybe the answer was there...better go check it out

All those rules made my hair grow fuzzy - It seems to have a lot more Dont's than Dos! But D said that it was ok - just say what you feel....So here goes....

I ACCEPT!!!!!!!!!!!

As is proper of a gentleman, he is coming over the pee to meet me and go for a stroll. I am really excited, don't know the details yet , but will let you know. What will I wear? How should I do my hair? Oh no, I think I need to go back and read some more blogs....

So in the meantime I will look westward and wait for Jake ....

Douglas, Fizzy and Monsieur Bob

Well every bloggie,

We have been bursting with excitement - we looked at our calendars and it has been over a month that Douglas has been in his new home - and guess what? They love him! So he is officially adopted! Yep, he has found his forever home - he lives with a lovely family and a girl Airedale named Lulu. They have been on camping holidays already - here he is sitting in the front seat with his sister - they were eyeballing squirrels. Sadly they had to share their campsite with the beasts - how unfair, we know!

We are so happy for him - and we confess - a little sad too - he is such a sweet natured enthusiastic boy - how could you not get attached? But he is where he is happy - and that made a great Thanksgiving and Christmas all rolled into one for D and C.

Now, we went to the Fox terrier Rescue and I was not amused! I still get a little worried I am being left - so I stuck by the exit or my humans - no one was going to get past me! But D explained we were there to meet Fizzy and Monsieur Bob! These two rescues came from a family whose circumstances had drastically changed and they couldn't keep them anymore. Well, Fizzy is a sweet girl - loves playing with toys - really dainty . Here is Fizzy with her new toy...(D and C brought a toy for each of them)

Bob is a very typical (boy) Wire! He is BOUNCY BOUNCY BOUNCY! He kept playing and jumping and bouncing the whole time - most of our photos are blurry - here is one of the few still moments we captured of Bob (or Fizzy for that matter)...

He kept tying to steal Fizzy's toy - he had a toy - but Fizzy's toy always appealed to him that bit more...She kept it away from him for quite a while...(the girl has got some pretty good moves)

Well, she was right to argue with him - look what he did to the doggie stuffie!!!!! Who knew he was such an accomplished stuffie surgeon?

So we gave her the other toy - a big squeaky daisy - notice Bob peering over her shoulder?

Eventually she took a break to have a drink of water and look!!!!

But how can you get angry at such a sweet face?

They are really good together and just love having fun. D and C just loved them both - they need to find a home that will take both of them and has the time for them. There are a few families interested - hopefully they will find their furever home soon.

Don't you love their woolly coats ? They came in with their winter attire and they will be 'groomed' soon - but we like them better this way - they look like teddy bears.

Now we want to wish every doggy, kitty and beasty a very Happy Thanksgiving - we would love to be with you enjoying the celebrations and food! D says please send Pumpkin Pie!

We also are very moved by an award that has been given to us from two wonderful pals of ours. But we will post that separately - big licks

Remembering Miss Snickers

So many wonderful tributes have been made to our dear friend Miss Snickers, we weren't sure if we could find the right words, but we felt it important to let her family know how much she meant to us and this community. Although our world is a 'virtual' one - our sense of loss and sadness is very real. We never met snout to snout - but we did meet heart to heart. We are truly thankful.

Hello all

We have been a bit busy lately - you see we have a visitor staying with us. And D says 3 Wires in a house is a lot of work! But we keep her busy and she doesn't become a couch potato! So it is like we are providing a service - no?

D and C help out the Fox Terrier Rescue whenever they can - and they were asked to pick up and foster our pal, Douglas. This is difficult for D and C as the last dog they fostered was Paddy and we all know how that went! You have already seen pictures of him on the Fun Walk - he came with us and kept up all the way!

I had a little problem with him at the beginning - I mean how many little brothers does one gal need? I was a little bossy - but not mean - just bossy - my house, my food, my couch, you get the picture...But I settled down and now we all get along - here is a photo of the three of us on the couch - we all love cuddling our people on the couch - but when they get up they put pillow bookmarks - otherwise we steal the whole couch and they have to sit in the other chair which isn't as comfortable...

Douglas is a little shy - we keep trying to take photos and a video but he stops moving - here is a photo we did manage to get...

Douglas is a sweet boy - he gets a little excited at times - but settles down pretty quickly - he enjoys going out and seeing new places - he was particularly fond of the pet store! But he is a true terrier - he tried to hunt the little bunnies in their enclosure. Funny for us - not so funny for the bunnies. So we bought him a stuffie - which he hasn't destuffied yet....

We have put him on the Fox Terrier Rescue website - so hopefully he will find his furever home. There is a really lovely family interested in him and we hope it all goes well ... we will keep you posted....

Fox Terrier Fun Walk 2 - the Return to Brighton

Hello everyone,

Guess what? We got to see Jackson again! Yep, we went to the Fox terrier Fun Walk - and I do not know how he did it - but Jax even arranged the sunshine. It had been raining all week and then on Saturday the clouds went away and we had blue skies and bright sun. D and C were complaining that they overdressed! We were groomed - lost our woolly coats - so we were just fine...

Here we are together (I am a little shy , but Paddy heard all about the walk from Jackson and was pointing in the right direction)

Now, our D was helping take roll call at the beginning - so she wasn't busy taking photos! So we have to 'borrow' some from others and let you know that Blue has some great ones of the walk on her blog. Jackson has organised photos on his Facebook Page. The walk was open to WFT and friends - the WELTAF group joined - aren't they lovely?

I got to pull Blue the whole way round - we went all along the beach - took a break at a little coffee shop - and some dogs got to play in the water...

As you will see from Blue's Blog - I was forced to beg for my food! But I got lots of biscuits, cuddles and of course some coffee too. I needed the caffeine to keep my energy up!

Some people went back after the beach - but we continued on to Rottingdean - we saw Rudyard Kiplings house. D tried to take a picture of the Blue Plaque - but Douglas was leaving his own tribute...

We had a brief rest in the garden...

We went back on top of the cliffs. And started the long march home...

It was just beautiful - but we were getting tired and were all motivated by the thought of having something to eat when we got back to the Marina. Paddy was a real trooper - he kept up most of the way - but on the last descent - he fizzled out - So C carried him ...

We had a wonderful day - we want to thank Jackson with a big kiss - as he and J1 and J2 did a great job - they also organised goody bags - but we ate ours faster than D could take out her flashy beast! We think all our doggie pals enjoyed themselves - we were so pooped we slept all the way back and then some...

It was a beautiful walk on a beautiful day! In fact, we all want to move to Brighton!

Apologies, News and Announcements!

First off - we want to apologise for not writing sooner - on the blog or on your blogs! But our Typist has had a bit of a rough month and hasn't been tremendously reliable - she apologises - we think of our pals even if we do not always write it down!

Well, we have missed so many Birthdays!!! So we wish to send belated birthday wishes to Asta, Butchy , Molly , Molly and Taffy - that is just the doggies - we know we have missed some human and other doggie ones too! We have made a donation to the Fox terrier Rescue UK on behalf of all the birthdays - as you know we are a little partial to the Wire Fox terriers!

It will be Poppy's birthday on the 10th October and Max's Birthday on the 13th October - so if you can go by and wish them a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY I think they will be super smiley for it. We will too - provided our typist doesn't get swamped again.

Also we wanted to help our pal Woodrow out - his humans have been trying everything to get him back on his paws - and his new treatment is quite pricey - so if you can help in any way - I know they will appreciate it. When our beloved Rowan was ill - D and C paid a lot of V-E-T bills - and they would do anything to help him. In the end, his treatment was very expensive - but the thought that they didn't do everything they could for him would have cost them more.

We are all excited here - we are going to meet Jackson again! Yes, it is the 2nd Fox Terrier Fun Walk - in Brighton - and we are looking forward to it. We have been practising our high pitched barks - so the other dogs will know we are there! There will be lots of photos afterwards no doubt - if you are nearby - please come and join us.

We have a guest staying with us - his name is Douglas and we have been very friendly and welcoming - honest! We will post in the next few days about our friend - so stay tuned...

We're back!

Hello every bloggie from Paddy,

After everything we have been through - D and C decided a nice restful break in the lake District was required. So we loaded up the moving kennel and were off for a week! We stayed on a lovely farm - with tasty - I mean - sweet sheep. Unfortunately the wall around the garden was only 1foot high - which caused D and C anxious moments- Sally got the message not to jump over - but those sheep were calling me to them! Honest! I just wanted to go over and 'play'. Really...

There were lots of great farm animals incluing some very friendly cows. The news has been saying that they are mean and will trample you - but they were sweet and kept trying to lick me and Sally - which isn't as sweet as it sounds since they have very rough tongues - do you think they were tasting me...Here are photos of us meeting our new 'friends'

We had lots of fun - lots of walks on the beach, hikes in the country side - and sadly trips in the car to Charity Shops and little antique Fairs - but it did rain every so often and D jumped at the chance to hijack us and force us to look at Bric-a-Brac! Which was ok as I love hanging out the window of the car...

We loved our walks because we usually ended up in a Pub - here I am looking longingly at a pub that serves lovely food - all I got was chicken - how very disappointing ...

So to make up for it - I decided to roll in poo - if I cannot eat - at least I will have some joy in my life....

We weren't the most welcome diners after this ...

But we ended every day the same - nice and warm at the cottage - curled up - we were so tired we even forgot to sleep on separate couches....

I had some trouble with my back - but my pancreatitis stayed away - we want to thank everyone again for all their support - we will be coming round the blogs to see what everyone has been up to - so, smell ya later...

Paddy!

Paddy Update

Hello all,

Sally here - I finally got control of the computer again after all this drama in our house. We were really worried about Paddy, me included - I went to visit him at the hospital - and was so happy to see him I gave a few licks and made him fall over - I felt bad but I was happy to see him. I act a bit silly with him sometimes - but I secretly quite like him. SSSShhhhh - don't tell him though...

Well, all tests confirm Paddy suffered from Pancreatitis (I had to look that one up) - so he is on a very plain diet - and D has been besides herself making sure he doesn't supplement his diet! This is not easy with Paddy - we caught him trying to eat a log, nettles, some horse manure.... you get the picture. D wants to buy Paddy a large hamster ball - so she can roll him about and he can eat nothing and no one can hurt him. I said he would have no life if he was a boy in a bubble - but she would feel calmer...But here he is in the park trying to get his Border terrier pal Oscar to play with him - using the Paddy stare...

The bad news - is that I am eating a plain diet too! No treats, no table scraps, no nothing!!! D sometimes secretly feeds me my treats behind his back - so he doesn't feel bad he doesn't have what I have...

But we have been worried sick about him and D hasn't stopped watching over him - even I have been nice to him. But he is still on a regime of rest and relaxation - he seems to be settling with his digestion. So paws crossed we can keep that going furever!

Here he is sleeping on his favourite blankie....

He has had some pleasant dreams lately - I wonder if it has anything to do with dreams of the lovely nurses - I told Paddy about what wonderful nurses Asta, Agatha and Asta down under are - and trainees Koobie and Lacie - the thought of them keeping him company really cheered him up. Every time he hears a blender - his tail seems to wag more.... well, I am sure that is a smile on his face...

We wanted to let everyone know that we are so thankful for our great friends and for all the support we have been shown. D and I will be going round the blogs and thanking everyone in person - the power of the paw prevailed!

We are using the next few days for Paddy intensive treatment - lots of fun and relaxation - plus we are planning a beach trip! But we are not going to let him free in case he tries to run to Scotland again!

Paddy is home!

We have our Paddy home!!! The Hospital said that his vomiting had stopped - and although the other end wasn't completely right - with a lot of TLC at home - he should make a full recovery. They ultra-sounded his pancreas and it was ok - nothing out of the ordinary - so we are still not sure what started this all off. He has to stay on a special diet for now - I am afraid it is no ice cream for Paddy! So please eat some for him instead!

He is very tired and has been very sleepy - but he is on the couch having a snooze.

We are forever in awe of the power of the paw! We have our boy back and we are thrilled. We are going to let him gather his strength and then we will be back ... and blogging...

Paddy is out of ICU!

Yes, he is out of the Intensive Care unit - he made it through the night - has responded well to his IV and he is eating and drinking (and more importantly keeping it down!). He still has a few problems with the other end - we are hoping it settles down too.

The Vets have been on rounds - so were late calling - boy, it was causing me to get intestinal sympathy pains! He is still there - they have done a lot of tests and they are pretty sure it is acute pancreatitis - inflammation of the pancreas - but they are not sure the cause. So he gets ultrasound tomorrow - our poor little Paddy boy.

The Clinician said that we should not be shocked when we see him as they have shaved him in various places to get blood/ ECG/ fluids in and out and then eventually the ultrasound. What the hell do we care? They can give him a Mohican for all we care - as long as we get him back happy and alive!

We want to thank everyone for all their positive energies - it is working!

Paddy Update

First off, we want to Thank everyone for the good wishes and positive vibes - it has helped us and Paddy through this very difficult time.

Yesterday afternoon Paddy took a turn for the worse and his little body went into shock - his blood work showed severe protein loss and electrolytes from all the vomiting and diarrhea - although he was on a drip he was not responding - so he was rushed to the Emergency Critical care unit at the Royal Veterinary College in Potters Bar - the Queen Mother Hospital. His prognosis was 50/50 - and we were told he needed a little bit of luck to get him through the night - but we knew better! He had all these wonderful two and four legged friends wishing him better and he has made it through the night!

He is still not out of the woods yet - he is currently on heavy painkillers and continues on an IV. BUT he got up today and had something to eat and drink. We drove out to visit him and he sat with us for a bit. Colour has returned and he actually looks like Paddy again. He is quite 'happy' with the painkillers and I have no doubt he will have some wonderfully psychedelic dreams. I told him about all the good wishes and he knows we are all willing him better.

We will have an update tomorrow - but if he makes through another night - his chances for recovery are very good.

It is a wonderful facility and the staff have been very good to him and us - he has his own Student Resident Vet - so he always has someone nearby to hold his paw and make sure he is safe.

Healing Vibes Needed for Paddy

Dear all

We really need your help - Paddy has suddenly become very ill. We truly believe in the power of positive energy and we need all we can get right now. Paddy went for his morning walk as usual - all was fine - he played with the dogs and ate his treats - then he started vomiting and having the runs. He just couldn't stop and in a short time went terribly pale and started shaking. We rushed him to the vets - he is there now on a drip, he has had painkillers, started on some medication and has stabilized. We are waiting to for an update - we will be transferring him to an emergency vet this evening so they can continue 24 hour care. None of his blood tests have come back with anything significant - so we are not sure what to do next.

He is the sweetest, fun loving bouncy boy - we are so upset that he is going through this and we want to do all we can for him to make him better.

FOX TERRIER FUN DAY 2009

Hello all,

Well, we had a very busy weekend. Our Zia (auntie) was in from Italy - she came to visit and accompany us to the Fox terrier Fun Day. The Fun Day is the biggest annual fund raiser for the Fox Terrier Rescue. It was held on a fabulous farm on Sunday - we were really excited. D had all our bags ready next to the door the night before!

Well, we set off nice and early on Sunday morning - and as soon as we got there it started raining! Typical English weather in July. D did bring the sunscreen just in case - we called it wishful thinking. There were lots of doggies there - and Paddy and I met so many - Paddy kept trying to play - and I kept trying to take their treats!

We would run out and enjoy the events - then it would rain and we ran back to our cars - here we are in the back of the moving kennel (ie our car) waiting for some food! D brought some very nummy cheese scones...

There were lots of events and a Raffle - I won a 3rd place Yellow Ribbon and Paddy won a 5th place Ribbon - but D says we are always No 1 in her books. There were lots and lots of goodies given and we even won some stuff in the Raffle. Like this very fine Bandana - which looks really good on Paddy we think...

There was a Best Dressed event too! It was a lot of fun - and the organisers did a super job! As always a lot of effort was put in and a lot of people enjoyed themselves! We took a few extra visits to the BBQ! I entered the slowest sausage scoffer contest and came 4th! I then stole a second sausage - it is very exhausting all these competitions - I had to keep my strength up. My favourite part of the event...the BBQ ... they kept it going no matter what the weather - that is true Terrier Owner Spirit!

D and Paddy sat outside and braved some of the rain - we were prepared - brollies, blankies, and towels...

No Tongue Action!

Hello all!

D is very sorry that we haven't posted earlier - we may need to get a new typist! Well, she has tried really hard to get some Tongue action photos for the Rocky Creek Scotties contest. Sadly she thinks we are too behaved and hasn't gotten any good photos! She spent a whole morning feeding me peanut butter in an attempt to get some photos - but I ate a lot of peanut butter and this is the best of the lot...

She then went on to fatten Paddy with peanut butter - and got nowhere - there is one on an earlier post of him eating ice cream - here is the best of a bad lot...

So we have decided to add two photos of our cousin, Tattoo - he lives in Canada and is a very handsome Husky - we would like to meet him one day - maybe we will...

The Call of the Boot Sale

Hello fellow Bloggers,

We have been busy this week - although we hate being left at home - accompanying D can be tiring sometimes. On Sunday we went to several Boot Sales - it was an early start 5:30 AM! For my pals over the pond - a Boot Sale is like a Garage/Yard sale - but everyone drives to a large field open up their trunks/Boots and sells things. Lots of clothes and kids toys - but lots of collectibles and every so often an antique. D is addicted to Boot Sales - in fact she cannot pass one without going in. If she hasn't gone to one at least in a week - she starts to get the shakes.

This is a view from our car overlooking a Boot Sale:

The cars are all lined up - row upon row upon row.... the selling is in the distance - they are popular so we end up parking a little ways away. Well, we spent almost 2 hours at one Boot sale - we were very tired - well I was tired - Paddy seems to run on batteries....

The good thing about Boot Sales is that we get BAD food for being GOOD Dogs - we both got the end of the ice creams - this is a photo of Paddy finishing his off - I ate mine too fast for that flashy thing to take my picture...

Now we can't show you everything D bought - because that would take days - but we did think we should show you this lovely board game....

We aren't sure how to play it - but it comes with little bone cards and 4 little plastic Scottie Terriers - maybe the Rocky Creek Scotties can teach us....

D is always finding weird and wonderful things - sadly C is not as enthused and has caught D trying to sneak things into the house - he did scream once when he saw she tried to 'hide' two steamer trunks in the garage.

On a separate note - D and C were not sure how Paddy reacts to loud noises - so when it was predicted that we would have thunder storms - they prepared themselves for the worst. I run and hide and take refuge in my 'safe' place. This is how Paddy dealt with the nasty thunder storm...

We hope he reacts the same way to fireworks ...

I have some footage for Whack-a-Squirrel - but my typist is having some 'technical' difficulties - so bare with us. Suffice it to say, our garden is a squirrel free zone!

D is going to be very busy in the next couple of weeks - so although we will read your blogs - we may not comment on them right away - hope you understand - we will be back soon!

Whack-A-Squirrel and we have a man down!

Hello Bloggeess - it has been a busy week for our little family unit. D has been busy with work - and we have been accompanying her on many trips - none of them very exciting so not worthy of photos. But I wanted to let you know that I have volunteered to be the UK Rep for Operation Whack-a-Squirrel. The head of this campaign is Tank - if you would like to join please let us know. El Presidente, Tank, has highlighted the menace that exists amongst us - grey squirrels! (Disclaimer: D wishes no life form any harm, and although she allows me to chase the beasts - she would be mortified if I caught one and would bring it to a Vet to have it resuscitated ) Sadly as she is a vegetarian - there was never much hope for support from her - in fact she is a traitor amongst us as she has been known to feed them - I USUALLY SEND THEM PACKING - so she has less chance of that these days. In fact here is a photo of one of them on the feeder ...

I am now at the tree - and please note there is no grey beast around...

I spend many of my waking hours patrolling perimeters - I also manage reconnaissance missions in the nearby woods and mobilise fellow dogs in the chasing and scaring of the resident menace. Sorry to any softies out there - but I do not like these things - and when I have my 'down' time - I practice on a dummy Squirrel - it helps keep my skills sharp....

One day - I will meet Mr Squirrel and there will be a rumble in the jungle - well .... woods - or a well maintained herbaceous border. But that doesn't sound as dramatic - so jungle it is! I have been to several Blogs - and this appears to be a global problem. Will update soon with video footage of bravery during the call of nature...I mean Duty....

Now, Paddy as he is sight impaired - has been nominated for recruitment - but unfortunately he has been injured in a wanton and malicious attack - not squirrel related. He accompanied D on one of her weekly Greenwich trips. She was running an errand and went to the covered Greenwich market. As soon as she entered - a loose, shaggy black dog came over and just attacked him! The dog was not on a lead and the owner materialised minutes later! Well, D was livid and used many HBO words (a phrase I have stolen from my American friends) The owner took no responsibility for his dog's actions - sadly they were unable to find the manager of the market and after a little rest to gather her nerves - D drove Paddy to the Vet's. He got bitten round the neck and had a very nasty gash. Thankfully they didn't get the face - so he still as handsome as ever - he has a shaved patch though. The hole in his neck is healing and he is on antibiotics - so he will make a full recovery. D 'medicated' herself with a very nice glass of Merlot when she got home.

Afterwards we found out that the manager of the market was a friend of the individual who owned the dog and he was spectating and never did a thing. The dog remained off lead and we were told they are there quite often - D strongly advises any London based dogs to avoid the Market at Greenwich - she would hate someone else to get hurt. She is still shook up - but Paddy is enjoying all the attention. She bought him this massive crocodile to help cheer everybody up....

If you ask me... he is playing it up a bit for all the goodies...

He has a check up soon and when he gets the all clear - he will be back in action. D , however, may need a few more days - she loves us both very much and tries to give us a safe and happy life and it upsets her greatly that other people are not as responsible or caring.

On a positive and happy note - the Annual Fox Terrier Fun Day is scheduled for the 19th of July - if you would like to attend - please go the the Fox Terrier Rescue website for further info. We will be there - and we would love to see you there too!

Delayed award!

Hello everybloggie,

Sally back again - my paws are better - still have a little rash on my belly - but it too is getting better. I want to thank everyone for their concern and best wishes - it helped me get better. Paddy was a good blogger and he may get a chance to blog again - he has been with us over a month now so that makes him officially ours! Here he is with a very odd 'smile' ...

I would like everybloggee to know that i am ok with him. I even let him sleep near me on the communal dog bed.

Now I have been awarded the Kreativ Blog Award by our lovely Italian pal Lucia - she is one of the sweetest bloggers we know - but she is an airedale and they are quite special! I hope she and her ragazza are ok - I know this has been a difficult time for their family.

Well they were super wonderful and awarded us this a little while ago - but our very slow computer typist has been busy with other things! She has no sense of priorities.

The Kreativ Blogger Award....Here are its rules:

Since there are officially two of us now - we will list 7 things we both love.....

1. We both love to eat food - Paddy adores any meat that is roasted - I am partial to Pasta dishes

2. We both love to go for rides in the car - I sit like a little lady on the back seat. Paddy sticks his silly head out the window and has been known to try to jump out of the car to greet passing dogs - this makes D nervous...

3. We both love to sleep - and we both like to have our bellies in the air when we sleep

4. We love greeting our humans in the morning - we both jump on the bed and give lots of licks. Sometimes we get carried away and fall off the bed - but once I got excited and held C in a head lock and licked him silly!

5. We love meeting new people/dogs - I love meeting new people (potential food sources) and Paddy loves meeting new dogs (potential bum slappees) - when Paddy wants to play with a dog - he starts spinning round and bum smacks their face. We will try and get it on film - because it really cracks us up...

6. We are both anarchists - generally we are very clean dogs - but I love having 'accidents' on my D's coronation rug - usually smack dab on the Royal Insignia - and Paddy loves to wee on the tyres of any expensive 4x4. He ignores the old beaters (maybe it reminds him of the moving kennel, ie D and C's car) We had to really move him along today cause he sensed there was a BMW X5 in his personal space....

7. We saved the best to last... WE LOVE BLOGGING AND WE LOVE OUR FELLOW BLOGGEES....

So now we have to list 7 blogs we love - we love them all so this is very difficult for us - but we will choose a few that we think haven't received this....

1. Jackson's World - he may have received this already - but we are hoping that by bestowing this on him - it might entice him into blogging soon - 'cause we miss him.

2. Massimiliano - he is our new found friend from Hong Kong - his family have had some tough moments recently - so we hope this helps cheer him up and let him know we are thinking about him

3. Tula - she is one big and very cute Akita - and she is a rescue like us! Plus she always uses fun cartoon effects...

4. Paco and Milo - our new friends from Italy - plus it is Paco's birthday - so Buon Compleanno and tanti auguri...

5. Merci - she is a little rescue Fox terrier like us - and she hasn't been too well and we would like to cheer her up and ask her to blog soon!

6. Autumn - a sweet lakie Rescue - she is moving home and poor thing she is surrounded by boxes - she needs pleasant diversion - like blogging!

7. Eric Square Dog - he is a real cutie and we were hoping to meet him at the Fox Terrier Fun Walk - it was his barkday recently - so big barks to him and we hope he will teach us how to place our awards on the side of our blog...he is a very Kreativ Blogger!

Paddy reporting about the Lake District

Hello everyone,

Paddy reporting today - Sally has problems with her paws again and she won't be able to type. She is wearing little girls socks - sadly the socks in this household seem to go astray - so Sally isn't wearing matching ones. D thinks they escape from the dryer - maybe it is like Colditz and they tunnel their way out of the dryer? Well here is Poor Little Sally:

Sally is looking very sorry for herself - so we all hope she gets better soon and her paws clear up.

Well, we had a very busy week! After having lots of fun in Salzburg at the wedding of the century - we were off to the Lake District! D and C love this area of England and love to go hiking. D also likes all the Antique shops and small little Junk Shops along the way. She bought lots of embroidered tablecloths - which is odd as she never uses them...go figure.

Well, it was a very wet and windy week - so in most of the photos I have sticky uppy ears - we walked lots and ate at a lot of Pubs - I really like going to a Pub after a walk and eating something - D and C drank local Ales and we all left with rosy cheeks.

We did a lot of walking and sightseeing - so I will try and pick out the highlights - otherwise this would be one very long blog....

Here I am sitting on the doorstep of our little cottage - the two legged ones take forever to get ready - I couldn't wait....

We were ready for any walk - here is us trying to pull D up the road to get a move on...

We were staying near Wastwater (England's deepest lake) in the shadow of Scafell Pike (England's highest mountain) - we did go for hikes in the hills - but the wind stopped us from going up the really high peaks as everyone was afraid we would be blown off the mountain - and at times it really did feel like we might be. I was really good on the hikes - although I have my sight impairment - I have all the spirit to make it up those mountains - here I am on the way to Great Gable - we are overlooking Wastwater - it was beautiful...

We did make it down and very predictably ended up in the pub - I got a lot of attention - but no Ale - very unfair...

At Wastwater is the smallest church in England - it is called St. Olaf's - we went in and said prayers for all our friends and family - it was a time of great reflection - I sat peacefully too - although I did want to water the Yew trees outside - sorry...

We also spent an afternoon at the beach - Sally really let her fur down and ran like mad. D had an idea I was ready for some off leash time - so she let me off and I ran straight towards Scotland - they caught up with me and I was put back on. It was a fun game for me - I was going to Scotland to visit all my Scottish pals...D didn't understand...

We visited several towns but I thought I would point out a special place for my friends on the other side of the pond - in Whitehaven there is a plaque commemorating Mildred Gale - paternal Grandmother of George Washington - who was from Virginia but went to Whitehaven where she now rests. Sally wanted to head to the coffee shop - she isn't one for history I am afraid!

While we were at Whitehaven we saw a really funny bunch of geese hanging outside the YWCA - not sure what interested them - but I sure hope it was fun.

I had a wonderful time - and we were out every day - plus we were allowed in the pubs and restaurants - I even got let into a few historic buildings - my favourite was an old working mill - where I got angry at the resident cat and paid no attention to the nice man - but in my defence he started it - I was minding my own business when he came right over and smacked me in the face!!! Hows that for Northern hospitality? Maybe he was jealous of my rakish good looks...

Anyway - I was really pooped at the end of each day and pretty much ended them fast asleep in front of the TV.

So here it is - the reason why me (and now we) love blogging...

We have met lots of super furry and not so furry friends. We get to see and experience cities and places we have never been to - we learn new languages, ideas, recipes and so much more.

We share our experiences with others and they with us. We laugh, smile and sometimes cry with our fellow bloggees - we realise that the world is a small place and there are a lot of lovely beings out there.

Now we are to tag other bloggers - but we think a lot of them have received this - so I pick one who may not - my new friend Max - and if you haven't been tagged - consider yourself fully tagged!

Now .... on Sunday - we got into the Moving Kennel (ie D and Cs car) - and drove a long time to go to a Sea Scouts Hall. Although we think Paddy would make a good Sea Scout as he is always prepared ...to make mischief.

You see, I spent the first 5 years of my life in a different family - and they left me with a lot of anxieties. So much so - that I am a bit reactive - mostly with the thought of my people leaving me - my D calls me Sully when I have my moments - as I become another dog - I shake, bark, salivate and I bite! It is called Fear Aggression and D has replaced so many of my victims (pillows, teddy bears, trousers and even one dress) - she thinks I have a very large carbon paw print - but I think I am helping the economy through her spending.

So D wants to help me become more confident and relaxed (within the approved Terrier guidelines). So a friend told her about TTouch - which has worked with wild animals suffering from anxiety at zoos - so if it works for a Tiger - it should work for a wire fox terrier?

But we spent the day learning calming techniques and new 'touches' that help relax me - I really liked the Tiger Touch and am a fan of the ear acupressure - but I was quite nervous as there were big dogs there and I needed a few 'time out' breaks. Then I was really relaxed with it all. I was supposed to walk around an obstacle course - but I cut through the course without dealing with one obstacle - in my mind - it is the shortest point from A to B - everyone laughed and admired my energy saving techniques. Paddy just wanted to play - he tried to dismantle the obstacle course and entice the other dogs to do the same...he is very annoying sometimes.

But it is early days and we will keep you posted on how it works for me.

Sadly we do not have more pictures - but D is not a multi tasker - as mentioned in a previous post - I think she needs some training. Send her positive photo taking vibes please...

More Fox Terrier Fun!

Hello everybloggie,

Well as you know - it was the First Fox Terrier Fun Walk on Sunday (Fox terrier Rescue). C couldn't make it - so D had to drive to Brighton on her own. Well, she hasn't been on the motorways (highways) for months - so she was a little anxious - but minus a little detour where we started heading North as opposed to South - we made it safe and sound. Stanmer Park was beautiful - we parked and started walking and saw more Fox Terriers like us!

We met at the cafe and I was well behaved - but Paddy started barking at his new found friends - they replied and then the lady from the cafe came out and asked if we could stand on the opposite side of the street - Geez!! Some People! We were just chatting.

Well, D handed Paddy to a nice lady named Diane and he led the charge - thankfully a nice lady named Annette was guiding the group - D wasn't really prepared and was a little concerned she would lead everyone the wrong way and we might never make it out! So well done Annette - she made the walk go smoothly.

We met so many lovely WFTs and their owners - and we got to meet JACKSON! I was too shy to ask for his pawtograph - but we got to walk together and we sat on the grass chatting afterwards. He was keeping an eye on the Goody box - making sure no one stole anything... He is lovely...

Paddy and I had lots of fun and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves..

We would of had more pictures - but sadly D isn't good at multi tasking - walking and photo taking are not her strong points sadly - so we have missed some dogs out!

But here is a group shot - there were about 15 Fox terriers and 4 other furry friends - we didn't bother to count the humans!

We don't know how to big up the photo - but if D figures it out - she will amend it later. But everyone had a great time - and we are planning to organise another one soon. Jackson and J1 did a great job and this wouldn't of happened without them and a big thank you to them for the Goody bags! Those biscuits were delicious - Paddy liked it too - but he has been known to eat dirt - so we are not taking his opinion too highly. Here is me wanting D to open the bag up quickly!

There are no after shots - as the biscuits did a disappearing act in my mouth...I did share with Paddy. Thank you to the Dog Dog's Bakery!

Well we were so pooped when we got home - we slept the afternoon away - we were so happy to meet all the other Fox Terriers and hope we can get another one together soon.

Failed Foster , New Friend Max and missing Freedom

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delay in blogging - my typist has been working on a project and was not available - where are her priorities?

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter that was filled with good food and fun. Well, I had a little surprise because we went to the Fox Terrier Rescue for Easter - and we came back with a very strange looking bunny.

I think you may know him as Paddy - well, D and C just couldn't stop thinking about him. They fell head over heels for him when he was here. They aren't very good fosters - because they failed on their first foster!

I have been extra special BOSSY - I am not so good with change - I am not so secure about things. But D and C are working hard on making sure I have my space and lots of love to reassure me everything will be ok. Paddy has settled in well - he is really sweet and when he gets a little more settled - I might let him comment from time to time! Looks like Paddy's here to stay.

I have another new friend that I met through D - he is a 14 year old Tong Gau - that means a Hong Kong breed that is local to the area. He lives in a great little area called Pok Fu Lam (in the hills near a large reservoir that looks like a lake and is filled with Turtles and Koi Carp - really pretty) and has lots of various animal friends. He has just started blogging - so if you could drop by and welcome him that would be great! He has a really powerful bark - but is a softy at heart. His name is Massimilliano - drop by and bark at him - he speaks lots of languages - so you can bark in whatever lingo you want - Thanks!

It was nice seeing everyone at the rescue - lots of dogs have found there furever homes and that makes everyone smile. But a Fox terrier has gone missing and if you can go to the website or look at the photo - just be on the lookout for him - He is about 10 years old, sticky-uppy ears and his name is Freedom. His owners are besides themselves with grief - so we want to do everything to help him return home.

If you have any information - please let his owners know - he was lost in the area of Ferndown in South Dorset, 5-10 miles north of Bournemouth.

My Life is back to Normal

Hello all,

Well, Paddy has gone back to the rescue - both D and C were very very sad - he needs a checkup with his Eye Specialist and maybe we will see him again soon. D and C are not very good foster carers as they have one foster dog and want to keep him. I should not have behaved so well - I should have been more bossy. We think he enjoyed himself - he loves his walkies - here he is with his Lurcher (greyhound) and collie pals - I am very fond of the big lurcher - his name is Charlie - and I like him a lot!

We brought him back to the Rescue and he settled back in nicely - after a few cuddles - he settled on the couch.

I was not so relaxed - although they were wonderful to me at the Rescue and they found me such a good home - I am not entirely comfortable being there. So I spent most of the time stuck to D or C's legs.

D thinks he has been a good influence on me - but how is that possible? I have always been perfect, no?

So my life has gone back to normal - we are back home and I went walkies this morning - and thought I would show you the lovely daffodils in our park. Spring is definitely here - and I am looking forward to the bluebells arrival. Will post photos when they are in bloom - they are BEAUTIFUL

Well, all that excitement at the Fox Terrier Rescue brings me to the Fox Terrier Fun Walk we are organising on the 19th of April, 2009 in Stanmer Park (Brighton). It is the first Fox Terrier Fun Walk and we are hoping it will be a success. I might even get to meet my pal Jackson finally! We will try and get some of the rescues there if we can - they will deserve a fun day out.

Go to the website and check the details out - hopefully they can get a good crowd and have all the Fox Terriers strut their stuff.

An unexpected Visitor

Hello all,

You won't believe who has come to stay for a few days...Yep, its my pal Paddy from the Fox Terrier Rescue. D and C have decided to give him a few days out and about - and I am supposed to be a good girl and learn to share. We were out by the seaside today - and saw lots of people, dogs and of course boats! D and C thought it would be good to go on a floating pontoon and see the ducks. This sounded like a good idea until I got halfway and it started to bob up and down. Well, we had to turn around pretty darn quickly as I started to crawl back...

We had lunch and that made me feel better - I got some of C's Steak and kidney pie...mmmm...and I did share with Paddy ....

We had a lovely walk back - past some boats and the wreckage of a ship - which D hopes isn't the way the weekend will end. She would like to foster dogs from the rescue - but apparently I can be a 'Little Miss Bossy Boots'. Which is unfair - I am teaching them manners ... thats all, honest. Don't we look angelic in this photo?

He is very sweet - and he is respecting my boundaries - so he might be ok.

Will let you know how we get on. We are all looking forward to going for walkies tomorrow - there are a lot of fun dogs for him to meet and play with - so will keep you posted.

Paddy says Thank you to all that helped with his operation - he is glad he can see and he is taking full advantage - maybe D can remember how to use the movie function on the camera...

Sally Bares All (Honest Scrap Award)

My dear fellow Bloggees,

I am sorry for the delay in writing, but my D has been a busy little bee and hasn't helped me - I need her for typing I am afraid...

D says that if I had access to the computer easily – I would write constantly about all the good food I ate and all the beasties I chased. I would like to mention for the record that I did chase a fox yesterday – but lost that pesky creature in a brambly hedge. I did make my C scream like a girl – and he didn’t yell my name in a macho way but VERY high pitched SSAAAALLLEEEE. But what he doesn’t understand is that I am a Wire FOX terrier – I was born to put those critters in their place and if I have to run all across the British countryside to do it – so be it! But it makes my humans debate my freedom. But when I see that little beast…I just see red…well, some white and black too…I can’t help it….

Now, I wanted to send a big smoochy kiss and Thank you to my wonderful new friend Asta - the sweet, well dressed cutie has sent me a Friends Award. I think you are the best - and an extra special lick for that one.

If D feels brave she will try and place it in the Blog somewhere - but be patient - she is not hugely talented in the computer programming side of life.

I also have been tapped/tagged twice for the Honest Scrap award!!! I was tagged by the lovely Lucia and the quadrangular canine Eric (who D affectionately calls Archie when she has been drinking). I have to tell ten truthful things about myself - the bare naked truth....and pass it on to other deserving blogees....My D isn't always very clued into this computer lark - so if a link is missed - please have patience, sigh and look heavenward - I do....

No.1 I love food – all kinds of food – I once raided a picnic and got my face stuck in a Pringles tube. D offered to reimburse the young ladies the money for the crisps (potato chips) - although I only licked them...

No.2 I like tea – this is a follow on from No 1 – but it is drink – I love milky teas and if any guest leaves theirs unattended I will drink it. Tables, Chairs, closed doors are no obstacles to me. To avoid embarrassment – D now makes a tea for me in a proper tea cup so I will leave her guests alone. Sadly ,this too, is embarrassing for her - in a different way, as people question her sanity…

No.3 I HATE my humans leaving me – so much so – that I get very ANGRY and attack MY pillow – and then I drag it to the front window and wave it at the humans as they leave . I used to attack clothing (whilst the humans were wearing it) – but we have worked this through (or transferred it) – now it is pillows and sometimes a blanket.

No.4 I do not like Boxer dogs, sorry Boxers, but you frighten the stuffin’ out of me. As soon as I see one I scream and hide behind my humans or a very large dog.

No.5 I like baby toys – little soft toys with rattles or squeaks. Unlike my pal Jackson, I do not hurt my toys. But treat them very nicely – they are not pillows after all.

No.6 I do not like doorbells, no matter the tune they play - something that I think I share with my fellow terriers (this makes my D feel better). Doorbells make me bark like mad, jump at the door and try to bite door handles and any object near the door (except my human) – this is bad for my humans except when people come to the door selling things or religion – my D then says I am very big and we cannot open the door as she cannot control me….she calls it a ‘silver lining’

No.7 I love to chase small furry vermin like things – I will chase FOXES, squirrels, rabbits, rats, mice, etc…I once accidentally chased a small Yorkshire Terrier – he was very GREY – and moving very squirrel-like – boy, was I shocked when I got close

No.8 I LOVE my family and when my Zia (auntie) visits from Italy I jump all over her – I once had been digging and ran over to her to greet her and jumped on her (VERY EXPENSIVE) designer handbag and left big prints on it – and she didn’t get (too) angry – I still got hugs and cuddles. And D bought some very nice leather wipes…

No.9 I like all kinds of people, but I particularly like the gardeners in our park – they are very sweet to me and I always interrupt their work for cuddles. They feed me Rich Tea biscuits and this makes me like them even more…

No.10 I have a bed in every room – bought just for me – but I like to sleep on the couch with my head on a pillow and my belly in the air – or on the humans bed in a similar fashion. Sadly due to my ‘isssues’ we have only one throw cushion left and one pillow left on the couch – the pillow on the couch is MY pillow...(I think this photo is an invasion of my privacy, but D thinks I am 'cute'...)

First Fox Terrier in the Western Hemisphere

Hello all - I haven't been out and about this week as I have problems with my paws. I have an allergic reaction to something and I have gone all itchy and D and C woke up one morning to find I had spent the night licking my paws - they were so bad I was limping. I now have medication and have to wear socks - which makes me sulk.

But today was a reprieve as D had to go to Greenwich and decided I was well enough to join her. Greenwich is one of my favourite parks and I sit up in the car when we get within a mile of it! As soon as we park - I toodle off to the Rose garden (No roses in bloom yet).

I love Greenwich park - I always get a lot of attention and there are lots of squirrels! I chase them all the time - but I never get them - today I caught the peanut shell as one ran up a tree (it is hanging from my beard).

We walk all around - D loves to sit and view London from the top of the hill - although we didn't have a True Colours Blue list - the sky over London (when there is blue sky!) is one of our favourite blues. (It looks a bit grey - but it was very blue - honest!)

We then went to see the Prime Meridian - well we had to cross it to go down the hill - this is the line that divides the Earth into Eastern and Western Hemispheres. There is a flashy Meridian marker with lights - but it was covered with Japanese tourists - so we went to the poor man's marker -

No one was there - so D had me sit down on the Greenwich Meridian - which means that at 3 pm - I was the first Fox Terrier in the Western Hemisphere! I also owned the last fox terrier paw in the Eastern Hemisphere.

We then went to meet my friend the Hog Roast man at the covered market in Greenwich (sadly D has not remembered his name and too much time has passed for her to feel comfortable asking again - sigh! - these humans) -

I always get some bit of the pork he roasts - but today I got a whole leg ! Well almost a whole leg - no photos as it made D a little uneasy - she doesn't eat meat - but I sure do! Well, it was all wrapped up , sadly, we didn't stop to eat it. Instead we went walking along the Thames - I can't resist a dip...

We like this walk because there is a Music College nearby - and you can here them playing - so you have your own free public concert. A somewhat wet me...

The nice thing also about today is that spring is on its way - there were signs everywhere - including our visitors from Canada - not Sally and Rufus , sadly - but a pair of Canada Geese....

Well, D completed her Greenwich errand and we were off home. Thankfully - she has cut up the Hog Roast and I had it for dinner - a very nice ending to a nice day.

What a busy weekend!

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine weekend - mine was very busy and D & C were on the go! I spent Valentine's with Cousin Gyp - he is a big Collie that loves to play ball. Gyp is a friend - not my Valentine - Jackson is more my type...!

'Gyp' stands for trouble or problems - and that is exactly what he is ! Well to me anyway - D & C think he is lovely - but he blocked me in the garden and wanted to play and wouldn't let me back in the house. So I had to tell him off - but every time I went out there I had to be pretty quick about coming back or we would have had words again! All he did all day was run around, play with toys (MINE!) and chased the ball. We even had to watch his TV programs - he liked Womens Tennis - which suited C - but D wasn't convinced the motives were strictly sports related.

Well, you think that D & C would let me catch up on my beauty sleep on Sunday - but No - C had a bike race. He gets on this two wheelie thing and dresses up in tights and then cycles as fast as he can for 25 miles (he doesn't race other riders, but the clock - these humans - what an odd bunch) ... While he raced the clock, D and I sat in the car reading magazines drinking coffee - it was cold though and I stayed under my blankie.

C did very well - he came in the top 20 and had a very competitive time - we were very proud and we gave him a big Congratulations kiss. We then went to visit the Fox Terrier Rescue. Not to drop me off - although after I turned D's expensive jeans into a pair of shorts - she did threaten to send me back. It wasn't the jeans she was so mad about - it was the fact that she was wearing them when I had my 'moment'. But those were early days and I am much better now.

My fellow rescues are a much better behaved bunch than me - we saw Paddy again - a sweet boy that had cataracts surgery - which I know Jackson told you about and you were all so generous to help towards the cost of his surgery. He is doing well - still waiting for his forever home. A volunteer knitted him a cosy jumper (sweater) - all stripey - to help keep him warm.

D and C brought lots of treats and toys and an extra special one for Paddy. Check out the Fox Terrier Rescue website for all the photos of my pals in the rescue - D wanted to take them all home. We all hope that they find their forever home very soon.

Wow, what a weekend. I was too tired yesterday to write anything - I just curled up on my blankie and snoozed the day away. But I am bright eyed and bushy tailed today and can't wait to read all the Valentine blogs - lots of licks

TinTin Shop turns 25 !

Hello all! Well, D and I went up 'West' to help celebrate the Tintin Shop's Silver Anniversary - it has been in Floral Street, Covent Garden for 25 years!

It has been a bumper time for all things Tintin - In January, there was a celebration for 80 years of Herge and Tintin (and Snowy - naturally) (Thanks Jax for the info - I have a tendency to exaggerate things...) - there are plans to build a new Museum and it is confirmed that there are plans to make a Tintin movie! Steven Spileberg better use a Fox Terrier for Snowy or else I will fly to LA and wee on his Begonias. (I am very much for the peaceful protest). Well, here is a picture of me on the train going up to the Big City...

I am a bit backwards at going forwards ... I rarely face the direction of the train - this gives me a chance to check out all the passengers and their bags. Well, we got into Charing Cross...

We walked to Covent Garden - I enjoy this as there are many food related stores along the way - sadly we stopped at none of them!

We got to the Tintin store and everybody was really nice and welcoming - Jane the Manager was super kind and made a fuss. Here we are together - I am the one on the right - the white one on the left was very quiet and just sat there!

Michael Farr was there - he has written several books on Tintin and Herge - and is the leading British Tintinologist (someone who knows all about Tintin). D bought one entitled 'Tintin & Co' - it is all about the history and inspiration of the Tintin characters - and chapter 2 is devoted to Snowy! I think it should of been chapter 1 - but that was about Tintin - so I guess, as he is in the title...Michael kindly signed my book - and D and I took a picture with him - I got all Luvvie on him and gave him a kiss.

D has promised to read the section about Snowy to me - apparently Herge never owned a Fox Terrier (his loss) - but the landlord of the cafe/bar where all the journalists used to meet - had a Fox Terrier - This was part of his inspiration. But I won't tell you anymore as I think you should get one of his books. They have a Quiz and D wants to fill it out and maybe win a prize - but as none of the prizes are edible - I won't be helping her on that one.

We then went for a stroll in Covent Garden - they have a covered market and lots of Food Stalls - which we did not stop at. But we were going down the stairs and this lovely smell came my way - so I had to take a quick look.

The man was selling Paella (pronounced HHMMMMMMMMMMMMM!) - once again we did not stop here. D wanted to sit and listen to the man singing Opera - he was very good and sang several Arias - including Nessun Dorma - from Puccini's Turandot - one of D's favourite Operas.

At the end several people from the crowd joined in and sang with him - and D was almost crying - but she cries at the drop of a hat. Sometimes she cries at commercials about cheese.... Talking of crying, did I mention we didn't buy the Paella? But on the way back to the train we saw a shop that was selling life sized chocolate Westies (West Highland Terriers). This is the only dog I would consider biting...

Well, we got back to the station and came home - C had my dinner waiting for me - I am snuggled up and ready to watch TV and go to bed. We have some Tintin videos - and I may watch them. I have finally eaten (C prepared Roast lamb - one of my many favourites!)- so I am a much happier girl. Will write more soon - Toodles and licks to all,

My First Blog!

I am just starting out - I am still getting used to using the keyboard - my paws are a little big - they should make bigger buttons! So please bear with me... I live in London with my humans, D & C . They picked me up from the Wire Fox Terrier Rescue two years ago. My first home wasn't a good one and has left me with some anxieties. I can't help it! D & C are very understanding - I feel bad that I have destroyed D's collection of pillows - but they were a little mismatched and C felt there were too many anyway...

I will be posting photos and more blogs as I get a handle on this blogging business - I am stuck indoors because of all the snow - it plays havoc with my recent pawdicure.

Here is a picture of me writing the blog you see what I mean about the tiny keyboard? How doggie unfriendly...(soorrrrry, D has plants everywhere and that is an Amaryllis behind me - I do not have funny growths out of my ears...just in case you were wondering - also she needs to do some gardening - I try to help but apparently digging the plants up and replacing them with biscuits is not as helpful as you might think. But I am hoping I can grow a Dog treat tree - more useful than Delphiniums...)

Well, that's it for now - if D lets me have some time on the 'puter I will write again soon.
